Polish-Chinese Business Forum in Wroclaw – report

On September 22, the Polish-Chinese Economic Forum was held in Wroclaw. Its aim was to strengthen the cooperation of the Chinese Anhui region with Lower Silesia that started 20 years ago.

During the Forum Mr. Cezary Przybylski, Marshall of Lower Silesia, was signed with Partners from China a new agreement on cooperation between the two regions. This is a "new opening" of mutual contacts giving a greater guarantee of business security on both sides. The economy, trade, science, technology, education, culture, health, tourism, agriculture, the cooperation of chambers of commerce and industry, youth exchanges and university partnership in both regions will be the basis for cooperation.

The self-government of the Lower Silesian has set itself the goal of establishing relations with non-European countries, and thus supporting small and medium-sized companies from Lower Silesia in entering the markets of other continents. Therefore, during the Forum DAWG organized B2B meetings, attended by 50 representatives of companies from all over Poland, including 30 from Lower Silesia. The DSBJ Group, chaired by Jerzy Bednarek, also took part in these meetings. Apart from representatives of strategic consulting companies, B2B representatives were also representatives of such industries as: automotive, technical, metallurgical, mechanical, medical and food industries as well as representatives of technical universities and economic zones.

Anhui, whose capital is Hefei, is the province of southeastern China. It is inhabited by 70 million of citizens. Rice, wheat, corn, soybeans, cotton, tobacco or tea are grown in the province. The main branch of the economy is the mining industry - hard coal, iron ore, copper, zinc, lead and pyrites. The iron, copper, machinery, chemical, textile, food and transportation industries are developing in the region.

The Forum was organized by the Lower Silesian Marshal's Office and the Lower Silesia Agency for Economic Co-operation.
